Temporary placement or permanent, you can choose. For permanent we recommend a concrete foundation while for a temporary we use lightweight insulated construction. Both options add valuable square meters to your home.
Our Work Islands ensure that you can create that extra work space in your garden. The Kapiti Compact does not need much space. And meets Dutch health and safety standards. All our Work Islands also feel spacious and have plenty of daylight. That’s a relaxed way of working from home.

The temperature inside remains pleasant all year round. We use special, insulating wall panels and a revolutionary energy efficient heating system. In summer, the HR ++ glass protects against the heat and dampens outside noise.
At The Great Outdoors we use durable and environmentally friendly materials. From our experience in building outdoor entertainment spaces, we know which materials are most suited. We can re-use most parts of the Work Islands, this way they get a second life.
In designing our Work Islands, we strive to do business in line with the circular economy. The materials we use can either be recycled. All elements that we use are dismountable. So should someone decide they no longer need their Work Island we can refurbish it and give it a second life. This means no waste is produced (or as little as possible).
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international organization committed to conservation and responsible forest management worldwide. We only use wood products that come from an FSC-certified forest that can be recognized by the FSC label.
We build our Work islands of course according to Dutch building regulations. We only use high-quality, durable materials that require a minimum of maintenance. Summer or winter, we guarantee that you can continue to work comfortably in our Work Island through every season. And it will continue to look great from the outside!
